What Could be Better than the French Art of Living?

Strolling at the foot of the biggest fortified castle in Europe, walking through the country side following the meandering arms of the river Meuse, stopping to have lunch at a quaint restaurant at Place Ducale, twin sister of Place des Vosges in Paris; all a tempting start to a beautiful trip don’t you think?

Welcome to Charleville and Sedan, the Two Flagship Cities of the French Ardennes.

Here, holidays are enjoyed as much with your eyes as with your taste-buds!

A Cuisine that Combines
Quality, Authenticity and Generosity

The tables of Charleville and Sedan, and of our Ardennes countryside offer your palette a rich culinary tradition. Traditional gastronomy, authentic and tasty, affordable and generous, it is the most popular with our visitors. It is a cuisine that smells of the land! Meat, vegetables, cheeses, beers; it is testament to the care brought by the producers to their products.

Peacefully sitting in a restaurant, or at the market, your shopping bag on your arm, taste the pleasure of good living in the Ardennes!

Charleville and Sedan, Two Towns Rich in History, with a Remarkable Heritage

These two towns of the south Ardennes, only 20 km apart, are recognised for their exceptional heritage. The Minister for Culture awarded the title “City of Art and History” to Sedan in 2000 and Charleville in 2013.

Charleville-Mézières and Sedan are towns brimming with public and religious buildings, factories, tourist amenities and sports facilities... all bearing testimony to the technical, economic and social changes of our society. Guided tours are organised throughout the year, shedding light on a unique heritage and glorious history that have inspired the creative minds of local artists and architects over the centuries.
