In an exceptional setting combining 17th-century classicism with modern glass and steel architecture, the Musée de l'Ardenne reveals the history of a unique region on the bangs of France, already open to neighboring Belgium. With its collections of art, history and archaeology, the Musée de l'Ardenne is an encyclopedia of the region.

The Musée de l'Ardenne is sure to be a unique journey through time for young and old alike! A history in which wood, slate and iron have been exploited since the dawn of time. A visit to the Musée de l'Ardenne is a must to understand Charleville's magnificent Place Ducale and, more broadly, the founding and development of the ideal city envisioned by Charles de Gonzague, Duke of Nevers and Prince of Arches in the 17th century. Numerous artists from the Ardennes, such as Eugène Damas (1844-1899), have also sublimated the beauty of the landscape and the rural life of suspended time. Throughout the year, the Musée de l'Ardenne also features a permanent puppet show and temporary exhibitions.
